They need the antenna big because satellites are fake,the antenna is to connect to cell phone towers.Think about it if your regular cell phone can calculate directions by "GPS" just fine why all "Satellites phones have an huge antenna ?

Isn’t it meant for making calls during trips on terrains that are not very well equipped for normal cellphone use? That’s why I would think that big of antenna would suit such a phone.

Inmarsat probably only has 30 billionaires and 1,000 millonaires who use their sats for phone calls and internet when they're in the middle of nowhere. They charge about $12 U.S. dollars per MB used. Why don't they make it $100 for 100 GB and get 200 million customers instead of just 1,030 customers?
